Why choose low-season camping?

The pre- and post-season bring a quieter rhythm to the South Eifel. At Camping Drei Spatzen—an intimate, family-friendly campground with 58 pitches on the edge of a small village and vast forest—tranquility takes the lead outside the busy summer period. You’ll find:

During high season, the vibe turns into relaxed summertime liveliness; in the low season, peace and stillness return—without losing access to the same trails, facilities, and friendly atmosphere.

Notes:

Find your perfect low-season pitch

Nature pitch: Back-to-basics calm

Prefer pure nature? The Nature pitch is intentionally simple: no cars, no WiFi, no caravans—just a peaceful, starry-sky setting. Water and showers are included; electricity is optional at €1.50/night. It’s ideal for campers who want a quiet, primitive experience without sacrificing essentials like clean facilities.

Comfort+ pitches: Extra space, streamside settings

Our Comfort+ pitches (approx. 100–130 m²) are spread across different fields, some set along our little stream for a true close-to-nature feel. They include water, drainage, waste, WiFi, and showers, with electricity at €2.00/night. Select spots have 8A or 16A power depending on the field; you can often park near your spot on a parking strip.

Comfort camping pitch (80m²): Smart size, full connections

For tents and smaller caravans, the Comfort camping pitch (80m²) packs in water, drainage, waste, WiFi, and showers, with electricity at €2.00/night. Due to the compact size and softer ground, campervans longer than 6 meters will not fit—when in doubt, get in touch and we’ll advise.

Tent site car-free: Space to unwind (and add a small extra tent)

Our car-free tent sites bring you close to nature—many are near the small creek—while keeping modern comforts: water, drainage, WiFi, showers, and even an extra tent at no extra charge. Electricity is available at €1.50/night.

RV site: Easy in-and-out convenience

Centrally located near the terrace and sanitary building, the RV site offers a naturally firmer surface (grass/rock) that’s designed for easy entry and exit. Expect a 16A power connection, a water tap, and a drainage point for grey water (note: no separate camper service). Electricity is €3.00/night; water, WiFi, and showers are included.

Trekkers pitch: For hikers, cyclists, and motorbikers

Traveling light? The Trekkers pitch is sized for small one- to two-person tents and offers thoughtful touches:

It’s a superb low-cost option in the low season at €15.50 per night for one person.

What low-season guests appreciate most

Practical tips to maximize your low-season value

  1. Match your pitch to your style.

    • Back-to-basics tranquility? Choose the Nature pitch.
    • Extra room and streamside settings? Go Comfort+.
    • Compact and fully serviced for tents/smaller caravans? Comfort camping pitch (80m²).
    • Pure tenting with perks (and car-free)? Tent site car-free.
    • On wheels? RV site with 16A power, water, and grey-water drainage.
    • Traveling light? Trekkers pitch with free charging lockers.
  2. Bring (or book) electricity wisely. Electricity is optional on many pitches; choose the add-on (from €1.50 to €3.00 per night/day) that fits your setup.

  3. Use your discount card. Have a CKE/ADAC/Pincamp/SVR card? Show it on arrival to secure 15% off in low season (5% in high season). Discounts are not stackable.

  4. Pack for nature and comfort. A breathable groundsheet or tent carpet is allowed (please avoid plastic tarp or root canvas to protect our grass). Layers and a warm sleeping bag help you adapt to shoulder-season weather.

  5. Plan meals and mornings. Enjoy our Camping Bistro for a la carte dinners and drinks on the terrace. Trekkers can pre-book breakfast service.

  6. Confirm the best spot for your equipment. If you’re unsure about pitch suitability—especially for longer motorhomes—email or call and we’ll match you with the right field.

  7. Book with confidence. Our terms and conditions apply to all reservations. Cancellation fees apply on a sliding scale (50% within three to two months; 75% within two to one month; 90% within one month; 100% on the start date). In case of early departure (e.g., rain or unforeseen circumstances), the entire bill must be paid. Consider checking your travel insurance for reimbursement conditions.

Conclusion: The same forest, fewer crowds, better price
